James Goldberg

James joined Jas Bhalla Works in 2026 as an Associate. A qualified architect with broad experience across architecture, urban design and development, he brings a combination of technical expertise and strategic insight to his work.

He has worked across a diverse range of projects, spanning multiple scales, contexts, and building typologies from individual homes in sensitive environments to large-scale public buildings and urban spaces in inner-city settings.

Prior to joining the practice, James spent three and a half years in the public sector leading the development of key strategic sites for East Suffolk Council. In this role, he acted as a vital link between consultant teams, senior officers and elected members, helping to translate design and technical information into clear, informed decision-making.

James is passionate about the value of good design not as an unnecessary luxury, but as a fundamental tool for making the most effective use of limited resources. In an environment shaped by complex policy frameworks and diverse stakeholder demands, he believes that successful projects depend on a proactive approach to collaboration, consensus-building, and navigating regulatory processes.
